Remember your hamster stores a lot of food in his cheeks.
as far as his bowl when you can see the bottom of the bowl it’s time for more food. If you just top it off weather it needs it or not you will end up have old food at the bottom that will collect bacteria. It’s best to wash the bowl every time you fill it.

whenever its empty, or ask the store

A hamster will eat only about 1 tablespoon or less of mix per day. Since hamsters are nocturnal, it is best to feed them at dusk, when they wake up.

Your best bet is to put it where he sleeps. That is where he is taking it anyway. Change the water daily! The food you replenish when his is almost gone. That might be every other day or two.

    Ix for me.
    My hamster doesn`t eat much!

  6. i read my dwarf hamster every other day. Maybe he stuffs his face because he is hungry. Try giving him smaller portions of food more regularly

He hides it in his cage. Always have food in his bowl!

You should be filling his food bowl once a day. Be sure to include treats (i.e. chopped apples, broccoli, etc.). For a long time I thought my hamster wasn’t eating enough because I would fill his bowl only to find it nearly empty. Then, I discovered he was hiding most of it in his house.

Feed him once a day so he always has fresh food, and only a small amount. If you give him too much food, he’ll just hide it.
