Does it have a center support below it or is it just a single shelf attached only at the sides? You can try to nail a piece of wood under the shelf to offer additional support. Make sure it is not square though. A 2" by 3" piece (or bigger) would do the trick with the 2" side attached to the shelf. That depends on the design of the shelf.
