Can I Strenghen My Entertainment Center Shelf So That It Can Support A Tv Thats Heavier Than 1 I Have Now?

Currently my entertainment center can support a 100pound tv, the one I want to put on there is 130. Is there a way to reinforce the shelf?

    You could make it thicker by adding more wood, this should help. Or go to craigslist and get a free one and paint it!

    That depends on the design of the shelf. Does it have a center support below it or is it just a single shelf attached only at the sides?
    You can try to nail a piece of wood under the shelf to offer additional support. Make sure it is not square though. A 2″ by 3″ piece (or bigger) would do the trick with the 2″ side attached to the shelf.
